Web development is my second career, and a true love. Prior to this, I was a top commission-based sales manager on Wall Street… back in the days when the financial markets were rolling high and business travel was easy. I was lucky enough to help build a company from the ground up with a group of exceptional people that share my values of developing strong client relationships and delivering an excellent work product. Two kids, 9/11, and a sale of the company brought that great run to a close, but it set a solid foundation for the next venture.
A few of my philosophies
“If it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing right.”
Clean code that validates may not mean much to you now, but poorly written, sloppy code will come back to bite you (and most likely, at the worst possible time). I build sites with solid infrastructure, html5 and css3 that will continue to perform as technology advances. My clients are able (if they wish) to update their websites without my help.
“Less is more.”
I strive to make your website clean and focused, so viewers aren’t overwhelmed with a busy mess, having to guess what to look at first. I believe in a pleasing color palette, easy readability, and aesthetically interesting design. You may have several points you want to make to your viewers, but there’s a way to lead them to water without spraying them in the face.
“Tiny details, big impact.”
Sometimes a website will clearly look amateurish, or simply broken. Text overlaps, out-of-line elements, missized pictures, links that don’t work — you’ve seen them. The polish is all in the details… and I’m a stickler for detail.
